PG Woodhouse's famous Sir Roderick Spode lead his 'Black shorts' into action in this Very British Civil War scenario against the Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry. Highlight of the night was the failure of Spode's command team to pass their activation test 4 turns in succession, while trying to open a widow and climb into the cottage. The game was first trial of a new set of skirmish rules so as expected some things worked and some didn't. The Rangers sniper was perhaps a little too good and some mechanics need streamlining, but the conclusion was it was worth continuing development.
