Retreat from Fort William Henry - French Indian Wars

This was a recreation of the retreat of British forces from Fort William Henry. The British had been granted safe passage to Ford Edward by their French adversaries, but were attacked en route by the Indian allies of the French in a dastardly betrayal of the surrender terms at Fort William Henry!

In this refight, it looked like His Majesty's forces forced their way through, pushing the dishonourable Indians - and any accompanying Frenchmen - aside.

Blood Thirsty French-Indian Wars

A game was hosted depicting the French Indian Wars, of the 18th Century, on Monday night. The French, consisting of some regulars, French colonists and allied Huron Indians were tasked with burning down a British fort.

In reality, they come nowhere near, being driven off by disciplined (for a change) Highlanders, Rogers Rangers and allied Mohicans.

Rules used were Rebels and Patriots.

NB: There was also a Napoleonic game held in which a Spanish force successfully defended against a determined French assault.

French-Indian Wars

A fierce encounter in which the British regulars managed to secure the central stockade, enabling them to win the game. Much of the hard work was actually done by the Indians, who were fighting on both sides. Rules used were Muskets and Tomahawks.

WWII, WWIII and 18th Century

Three games were hosted on Monday evening – Team Yankee, Flames of War and an 18th Century battle set in North America.

In the WWIII clash, the Soviet T62 formation overwhelmed the Dutch defenders with relative ease. The T62 packs a pretty mean 115mm gun, which enables it to knock out most things, even Leopard 2s from the front. The Mi-24s delivered to coup de grace by coming on, after most of the Dutch AA had been stripped away, and KO-ing 2 Leopards. The third one promptly failed morale and ran away, leaving the brave Dutch infantry to their gruesome fate.
