Midgard - Dwarves v Vikings

In this scenario, the Dwarves were tasked with holding a stockade against marauding Vikings. They put up a brave fight, depending on their 'boomin' blasters' (artillery), 'shootists' (crossbowmen) and arquebusiers (fancy shootists) to hold back the Norsemen. Unfortunately the Vikings broke into their defences and managed to kill the Dwarven king - King Maudlin 'The Tall'. Despite the remainder holding out bravely, they were overwhelmed and defeated, the survivors running away as fast as their tiny little dwarf legs could carry then. The Vikings were left holding the battlefield, strewn as it was with four-foot-nothing corpses.

Forcing the Pass Scenario - Midgard

In an epic confrontation between a Viking army and a "Goth-ish" type Dark Age army. The game wasn't settled until the last roll of the dice.

Highlights included:

1. An enslaved Ogre Champion slaying a Viking minor hero in personal combat before the battle.

2. A Gothic minor hero being cut down in the first cavalry charge.

3. Waves of horse flesh crashing upon the defended high ground. 

4. The Viking Huscarls, with their commander, charging successfully several times to keep their army in the match

4. On the last roll of the dice, the Viking commander was slain, resulting in the Viking force disintegrating.

This one really could have gone either way. The Goths were down to just 3 reputation points at the end. All in all, very entertaining.

Forces of Evil Fight Back

The Forces of Evil, having lost the 'Battle for Evermore' a couple of weeks ago came back for even more. As they say "More is More", afterall! This time the Forces of Good were represented by an uneasy alliance between Dwarves and Elves. Their other allies - Men - were nowhere to be seen.

This was a scenario from the new Midgard book. Despite success on their left flank, the army of Orcs and Goblins failed to break the Dwarven shield wall on its right, and lost their toughest unit of trolls to Elf bow and spear units. 

This marks a low ebb for Orcs and Goblins, nevertheless we are sure that they will be back for yet more in the near future....
