This game was very loosely based on one of the battles at the start of Hood's ill-fated (to say the least) Franklin-Nashville Campaign. The Confederates are attempting to cut Sherman's supply lines to Atlanta as he commences his 'March To the Sea".
In our scenario the Confederate cavalry attacks a Federal supply base, whilst the bulk of the Confederate force attempts to overwhelm some hastily prepared defensive lines. This must be achieved before the Union reinforcements arrive.
In the end, the Union reinforcements arrived in good order, ensuring that the Confederates didn't really achieve superiority in either sector of the battlefield. In one brief action C.S.A infantry almost overwhelmed some inferior Union infantry that were defending a prepared position, but where thrust back down the hill by the surprisingly stubborn defenders. That was their one opportunity to strike for victory, but it wasn't to be.....
