Ultimately the Ogors overcame the Moggotkin folks, despite losing their commander in the first turn.

WWII 1939 - September Blitzkrieg in Poland

A strong force of Panzers, along with German infantry supported by 10.5cm batteries and a flight of Stuka ground attack aircraft, battered their way through stubborn Polish defences to claim a victory with typical Teutonic efficiency and ruthlessness.

The real heroes of the battle, however, were a detachment of Polish Bofors A/T guns which managed to KO three Panzers, including a Pz.III. Likewise, a Polish rifle company disabled 2 German A/T guns that had exposed themselves in an overly aggressive and foolhardy move.

Rules used were Rapid Fire Reloaded which work well, although the interaction between tanks and infantry feels a bit 'off' sometimes.

Figures and vehicles are nearly all from 'First to Fight' in 20mm scale. This is a Polish manufacturer who produce a comprehensive range for this campaign. Well worth checking out : First To Fight Wrzesień 1939 - Sklep Modelarski They also available through the normal distributers.

'Historical Sci Fi' - Horus Heresy 30K

Tonight we had a venture into 'historical science fiction', wargaming an historical campaign set in the past of the future....???! This was based on Warhammer 30,000 the 'Horus Heresy'.

We had heretic Iron Warriors of the IV Legion pitted against the loyalist Revenant Legion (later to be renamed Blood Angels).

This game had a retro feel, albeit set in the future, although 10,000 years before the the 40,000 universe of contemporary times.
