Christmas Club Game - Napoleonics

Traditionally, we put on a Napoleonic game on the last Monday before Christmas, in which everyone brings a couple of brigades of their chosen army.

In this game, we saw the French take on an allied force of British, Spanish and Portuguese. The French had some localised successes, but the allied army held up well and repulsed the Frenchman. The stars of the show were the British Heavy Dragoons that, after 2 turns of drawn melee, saw off the heavy Carabineers. Also, the Portuguese line who, despite taking punishing casualties from artillery and musketry, held the line and managed to rout a French line battalion.

Making a special appearance tonight was the Emperor himself! This beautiful set is produced by Wargames Foundry and depicts the famous painting "Napoleon Near Borodino" by Vasily Vereshchagin.

Post Soviet Conflicts - Chechen War, War in Ukraine

Here are some images of games set in the Chechen War and War in the Donbas which were taken over the last few years.

We used amended Rapid Fire rules which worked quite well for this level of combat in built up areas.

Monday Games - Flames of War, WWII Eastern Front

In this classic clash on the Eastern Front, the Germans crunched out a victory against the Soviets. Despite being outnumbered, the Germans kept their cool and the Panthers ‘did the business’ to blunt the attack of the marauding Godless Bolshevik hordes.

Monday Games - Napoleonics

A couple of Napoleonic games – one with the French versus an allied British, Spanish and Portuguese army. The other was a Sharp Practice game, pitting the French against the Austrians.
