WWII, WWIII and 18th Century

Three games were hosted on Monday evening – Team Yankee, Flames of War and an 18th Century battle set in North America.

In the WWIII clash, the Soviet T62 formation overwhelmed the Dutch defenders with relative ease. The T62 packs a pretty mean 115mm gun, which enables it to knock out most things, even Leopard 2s from the front. The Mi-24s delivered to coup de grace by coming on, after most of the Dutch AA had been stripped away, and KO-ing 2 Leopards. The third one promptly failed morale and ran away, leaving the brave Dutch infantry to their gruesome fate.

Dutch Courage

The Dutchmen scored a victory on their debut against the Soviets in this WWIII Team Yankee encounter. The Leopard 2s had a great game and Hollander morale held up well.

The Soviets had a poor game. The T80s couldn’t hit anything and didn’t score a single KO all game. Their AA did manage to sweep the NATO Tornados from the skies very effectively, but this success couldn’t be equaled on the ground.

Battle of Aschaffenburg, 1985 - Team Yankee

1985 - Soviet troops enter Aschaffenburg, a town to the south east of Frankfurt, on their relentless drive westwards in this Cold War Gone Hot encounter.

In the first game, American firepower decimated the Soviets as they attempted to close on the enemy, approaching along the relatively narrow streets.

In the second game, The Soviets made a bold dash for one of the objectives and took it. They were helped by terrible die rolls form US Apaches and A10s. The SU-25s made and appearance, knocking out 2 M1A1s, upon which, the third failed morale and was abandoned by its crew.
